DETAILS | ROBERT ECTOR - The Atelier - Opens 11/5 in Atlanta
Two years after the release of the #1 best selling art book, DETAILS | City Streets Are The REAL Runways, Fashion Photographer Robert Ector continues his first solo exhibition, titled, The Atelier, in Atlanta on Nov 27th.
The custom exhibition will showcase through December 5th and will host several events highlighting Artist in Photography, Fashion, Entertainment, Culinary Arts, Interior Design, Music, Film & Technology.
Ector, most known for his Photography and Art Direction for household names such as Mariah Carey, Steve Harvey, Mary J. Blige, Serena Williams and Nicki Minaj, says it’s time that Atlanta’s Creative Artist receive the recognition due to them.
"Atlanta has birthed and raised some of the biggest contributors to the Global Entertainment Market. But most people associate the achievements of Atlanta with only Music and Politics. So, when you think about Icons like Jermaine Dupri or Andrew Young, the gift and contribution to the Arts has always been there. But people are beginning to see that Atlanta has always dominated every sector of Art & Entertainment, not just Music and Politics.”
This immersive Photographic and Luxury shopping experience will allow the public to explore the World of Fashion Week in an Exclusive art space in the heart of Atlanta. With printed art work and a new line of custom designed and repurposed furniture on display, Ector is aiming to bring something different to Atlanta.
"People underestimate Atlanta.", says Ector. It's the next big thing in Fashion. There is a culture and level of creativity in Atlanta that cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the World."
Ector’s Art Book DETAILS | City Streets Are The REAL Runways was recently inducted into Savannah’s College of Art & Design (SCAD) Library of Archives and Special Collections as an educational resource at both the Atlanta and Savannah Campus. Photographed in New York, London, Milan and Paris over four years, the 15 pound, 650 page stunner highlights The World’s Most Fashionable People including Anna Wintour, Christian Louboutin, Edward Enniful & Giovanna Battaglia.
To celebrate the launch of The Atelier, the city of Atlanta has honored Ector with official legislation recognizing November 5th as Robert Ector Day. This proclamation from Atlanta city councilman Michael Julian Bond, and presented by Mayor Kasim Reed, acknowledges Ector for his contribution to the World in the field of Photography & Video.
The Atelier will also offer workshops, seminars and other creative services to disadvantaged youth in the Metro Atlanta area ranging in ages from 10-17 years old.
We hope that you can join us for a night celebrating Film, Fashion, Furniture & Food!
